High-Tech Radio Gets the Lesson Home

Two red receivers behind Alexia Grace's ear have given her a few giggles at a teacher's expense. The hearing devices are part of an FM listening device linked to a small remote her teachers wear around their necks.

The 11-year-old has auditory processing disorder - a "hidden" hearing problem located in the brain rather than the ears.
